The Arduino Duemilanove USB Microcontroller Module is the new improved Arduino which is fully RoHS compliant and allows the ability to burn NG and Diecimila bootloaders. It comes fully assembled and tested with ATMega328 pre-loaded with bootloader.
Arduino Duemilanove is an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple i/o board and a development environment that implements the Processing/Wiring language. Arduino can be used to develop stand-alone interactive objects or can be connected to software on your computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP). The open-source IDE can be downloaded for free (currently for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux). Requires a USB cable and 9-12VDC power supply.
The Arduino Duemilanove board is an incredibly low-cost, easy to use microcontroller board for use with almost any electronic or robotic project. The Arduino Duemilanove is essentially a robot "brain" able to send and receive signals and then take action based on calculations and logic. It is up to the user to program and download the necessary code, but not to worry; there are many ready to use examples available online.
